I have selected a 12’ float rod, standard fixed
spool reel, standard 10lb mono and size 16 barbless hook with a yellow
carp waggler and four shot BB. Quite a heavy set up but there are some crackers in
here.

I aim my first cast off to my left (right hand mouse)
just inside the shadow of the trees there. I am fishing at a depth of only
4ft, which is ample for carp feeding up in the water at this time of the
year. For loose feed I have chosen caster and I am going to chuck a few
around the float (press ‘L’ aim over float and press right mouse) two
or three times to start. If I were fishing deeper I would also drop in some
ground bait by pressing ‘G’, aiming and
dropping over the float in the same way.

Really good bite taking the float straight under and
gone. Quick strike ‘Z’ and I’m in.
First off the fish swims nearly into the net then sets off for the far
bank taking 100 feet of line in the process! Should of set the drag before
getting going ([ ])!

What a lively fish! Struggles like mad for 3 minutes
taking the strain right into the red until I thought I would definitely lose it. But
persevere I did and here is the result.

5lbs 1oz carp not bad for start, should have a net full by
the end of the day.
Here’s to you, good luck and
happy fishsim.
